Description

The Lacorsa Yamura Green Racecar Set is a beautiful tribute to Bruce McLaren's first year as a Formula One constructor. The car was prominently shown in the movie Grand Prix, where it was famously painted specifically for the film, as (spoiler alert) James Gardner's character becomes World Champion. This inspiring set features two well-crafted, split-color playing pieces crafted from injection-molded ABS plastic. Each race car has a distinctive white top half and a striking green bottom half, with one car accented by a bold green stripe.

The set incorporates rain rules with a new European GP at Brands Hatch track card and rain incident chart. Additionally, there are 21 Racecar Performance playing cards celebrating the legendary 1966 Grand Prix season, when teams scrambled to meet the new 3-liter engine formula.

Absolute fun!

My husband and I got this game about 8 months ago. Though there were some delays in receiving our delivery due to the game’s popularity, we did receive it as advertised and have been playing it ever since! (Shout out to Mark for checking in on my throughout that process!)

I recently played it with my mother and father and even though they’re not big racing fans, they delighted in the unique strategy experience of game play and we had a wonderful time. If you’re a racing fan of any degree, this game is for you!

Mixed feelings

We played with 5 players, each having their own car. The qualifying play is easy to follow. The race instructions about the order of play are confusing because the people in last are often moving forward but the last place cars are the first challengers. If the person in first place doesn't have the cards, they can't do anything but discard for the entire race. We still need to try it with teams or playing 2 hands but it was a bit boring for a game that is on this price range.

Thanks for your feedback. We view this as a key part of the strategy during a motor race. Moving forward is not critical to winning; only staying ahead of the other cars matters. Once a leading car cannot extend its lead, the strategy changes, and the other drivers must reassess their plans. That said, if a race car doesn’t have the required Extend cards, it must try to get ahead in qualifying or early in the race to block the others’ progress. This is the balance within the game, with cars having different capabilities and choosing the right strategy for the best possible result.

My friends and I really enjoy this game. It's simple to pick up but the expansions really do add just enough complexity and strategy.

I would really love to see a vintage Indy 500 themed version of this game, maybe in the future.

The car sets, with unique car abilities and the added rules with the track cards really make the game pop.
